Peridot and Aquamarine Wadjet Necklace
Peridot and Aquamarine Wadjet Necklace
Genuine Peridot and Santa Maria Aquamarine gemstones with 14k gold Snake Charm
In ancient times, the snake was a complex, dual-natured icon representing fertility, rebirth, and wisdom, as well as chaos, death, and evil. Due to shedding their skin, they symbolized immortality and renewal, while their grounded nature linked them to the earth, the underworld, and protection, such as the Egyptian cobra goddess Wadjet.
Aquamarine was also revered as the "treasure of mermaids" and a powerful talisman for sailors, believed to guarantee safe passage across treacherous waters. Derived from the Latin for "water of the sea," it symbolized protection, tranquility, and good luck, while also being used to purify water and heal ailments.
Ancient Egyptians also believed peridot protected against nightmares and evil, calling it the "gem of the sun". It was mined by Egyptians for its "sun stone" properties and later used in medieval European churches.
Santa Maria aquamarine is an exceptionally rare, premium variety of blue beryl, prized for its intense, vivid ocean-blue color and high clarity, setting it apart from paler, common aquamarine; originally discovered in the Santa Maria de Itabira mine in Brazil.

Care for Silk-Strung Beads:
Silk string adds a luxurious, flowing feel with beads and pearls, vs. wire cord. As with pearls, a rule of thumb is to put this piece on last when dressing (after lotion, perfume or oils applied), and taking off first before bathing. Keep dry and free from chemicals and store in the satin pouch provided for safe keeping.
Gently wipe with soft, clean cloth - polishing cloths have a chemical coating and are not recommended for natural stones or pearls.
